Key Largo sits just east of Everglades National Park and is home to John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park. This most northern key of the Florida Keys is a premier destination for kayakers, birders and anglers.

Looks like the Easter bunny is taking advantage of a beautiful South Florida spring day!

One of our favorite things about the Keys are their uniqueness! One of our favorite spots off the beaten path on the water is Toilet Seat Cut... A manmade shallow water channel marked with 250+ decorated toilet seats bayside around mile marker 90. The channel was dredged and marked mid century by a local resident... Hurricane Donna further dredged the canal in 1960 and left her mark... a toilet seat hanging on a marker... That collection soon grew to the display seen today and is one of the lesser known but quirky places to visit in the Keys.

Boating with the island locals! This dolphin pod usually hangs out in Blackwater Sound near Jewfish Creek in Key Largo Manatees and these curious/playful dolphins often interact with careful boaters in the no wake zone near the bridge and is always a favorite sight for visitors cruising through the area. We don't chase them but always a treat when they come to us.

The "Silver Liner" @silverliner54 is about ready to move into her new poolside tiki home in Miami where she will get a new shine and begin renovations after almost 70 years on the road. Our old girl is a rare 1954 Airstream Salon Liner with a front kitchen and is 1 of 3 of the 30 ft liners still known to exist. We will post pics of the renovation as we get started and she will soon be available for rent as a guest cottage and for events. She will be shaded under a new tiki with a large pool deck, hot tub,, outdoor kitchen/bar and full PA sound system set up on a private acre in South Miami.

Another beautiful weekend in the Florida Keys! @savealligatorlighthouse Alligator Reef Lighthouse is a personal favorite and an easy shallow water snorkeling reef located approx 4 nautical miles off shore near Islamorada. Clear blue water loaded with colorful fish and nurse sharks, the sanctuary area bridges the shallow reefs of the Upper Keys and the deeper reefs of the Middle Keys. First lit in 1873, the name honors the US Navy anti-pirate shooner USS Alligator which went aground at this location in 1822.
